AT THE 2011 NORTHERN CALIFORNIA RENAISSANCE FAIRE!
(Hollister, CA, May 2011) --- Nothing epitomizes the bounty of the harvest quite like the Northern California Renaissance Faire, and this fall, you are invited to partake in the festivities!
Held every Saturday and Sunday from September 17th through October 16th, the Northern California Renaissance Faire embraces Faire-goers of all ages, from Faire veterans to wide-eyed newcomers. An abundance of English ales and delicious “Faire fare”, from enormous turkey legs to delicately crafted chocolates, keep bellies round and content while live performances take place nonstop throughout the day.
Manly Men in Tights keep the ladies laughing and the gents on their toes with their hilarious banter and magnificent swordplay, and the antics of MooNiE and Broon, a dynamic duo of performers, leave guests in tears during their closing act. And of course, what would a Faire be without an authentic joust? The World Tournament of Champions will perform at the Tournament of Horses Arena twice daily for the Queen’s entertainment, demonstrating heroic acts to declare victory for their homelands.
This year, Saturday evenings will hold a special treat for Faire attendees, for as the sun goes down our Celtic Rock Concert Series lights up! This year’s exciting lineup offers performances from Tempest, Wicked Tinkers, and many more, each of whom will take to the stage in the Arena after the Faire gates close at 6pm. These exclusive concerts are free with admission to the Faire, and give a rare glimpse into how our Elizabethan village continues to thrive throughout the night.
And of course, the one-of-a-kind Faire marketplace is not to be missed…swords, bodice chillers and jewelry, carefully crafted woodworking and carefully hammered pewter. Swashbucklers shall duel for the hands of pretty maidens, minstrels will regale the crowds with lilting sounds and there will be ample opportunity to step into the act with period attire from our local costume shop, all whilst Queen Elizabeth herself parades through the masses, holding court and greeting visitors from all lands.
Advance tickets are now available! Purchase online before September 15th and receive $5 off admission! Children 12 and under will be admitted FREE entrance for all five weekends, and during Opening Weekend, general ticket pricing is “Two-For-One”

The Northern California Renaissance Faire is run by Play Faire Productions, a group of self-appointed actors and artisans who took ownership as a collective in 2004. Many Faire participants have been exciting crowds with their performances for over 35 years, never failing to entertain the masses with their pranks and mischievous behavior. They are proud to be the only Faire of its kind that is managed by their own performers, presenting an incomparable way to experience the magic of the time period. Whether you attend for an all encompassing history lesson, or wish to play in the original adult playground, there is no doubt that everyone will have the chance to stretch their imagination…
