At SECAPA meeting - September 19, 2011

The Southeast Chapter of the Connecticut Authors and Publishers Association will present author, publisher, and lecturer Peggy Gaffney speaking on “Market Your Books Using Facebook - 700 Million Potential Readers” at its next meeting Monday, September 19, at Groton Public Library 52 Newtown Road, Groton, CT at 6:30 PM.
Gaffney career combines her three loves: knitting, animals, and writing. She has written a series of unique knitting books that filled a tight niche market. Because of this tight market focus, she decided to build her own business and publish the series herself. The result was The Crafty Knits series of unique craft books for lovers of dogs, cats, llamas and alpacas all published by Kanine Knits Books.
Nine successfully published books later, she created a basic handbook for authors who want to publish and sell their work called Do It Yourself: Publishing Nonfiction In Your Spare Time.
At this SECAPA meeting she will be speaking about tapping into the market of more than 700 million possible readers on Facebook to market books effectively. Authors and aspiring authors as well as entrepreneurs are welcome to attend. Ms. Gaffney will explain about how to access this market as well as how to use a unique step-by-step guided course, offered for free to attendees, for those who’d like to build their own websites right on Facebook and sell directly to those 700 million eager customers.
The presentation will follow a brief business meeting that commences at 6:30 PM and refreshments will be served. For more information contact SECAPA Chairperson Tom Santos by phone at 599-5067 or email him at santostom@comcast.net. For more about SECAPA visit www.secapa.org.
