Callaway Gardens Seeking Volunteers For Its Harvest Moon Festival October 6-9

Volunteers will receive complimentary passes, merchandise and more in return for a few hours of work to support the effort

Aug. 19, 2011 - PRLog -- PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – Callaway Gardens is looking for up to 200 volunteers to assist in the production of The Harvest Moon Festival October 6-9, 2011. The four-day festival features big-name musical acts like The B-52s, the Gin Blossoms, Shawn Colvin, Mat Kearney, Big Head Todd and the Monsters and celebrity chef Claire Robinson of the Food Network.

Volunteers are needed to work the ticketing booths, help decorate the site, perform security functions, and assist in the backstage effort, to name a few. In return for six to eight hours of work over a four-day period, volunteers will be given a festival T-shirt and a festival pass to enjoy the show. Volunteer opportunities exist for adults of all ages and physical capacity. The number of hours will be dependent on the duties. Interested parties should inquire by sending an email to harvestmoonfest@callawaygardens.com.

This volunteer opportunity is perfect for people interested in hands-on experience in event planning, concert production, retail operations, or promotion. Volunteers will also experience how concerts and festivals operate from the perspective of the artists and the organizers.

The festival is a celebration of the harvest and of man and nature’s fruitful coexistence, combining farm-to-table foods, cooking and gardening demonstrations, fun and educational activities for children, and of course, an unprecedented lineup of big-name bands.
