Follow on Google News | Royal Garden Hotel ‘Serves’ up Pastry Tennis StarsTo mark the start of Wimbledon (20th June – 3rd July), Nick Hollands, pastry chef at the 5* Royal Garden Hotel, is working hard in his kitchen to create eight special caricatures of well known tennis stars, using the sugar-based dough pastillage.
By: Royal Garden Press The models will be on display in the Kensington hotel’s Park Terrace restaurant. Every person that purchases a ‘Wimbledon Afternoon Tea’ will then have the chance to correctly guess their identities to be entered into a prize draw to win a two night weekend break (including breakfast) at the Royal Garden Hotel. Priced at £22.00 per person, the Wimbledon Tea includes specially designed cakes from the Royal Garden Patisserie including; Lemon McEnroe, Rum Ball Boys, Sue Barkerette, Sharapavlova, Roddick’s Roulade and the Fred Perry Cake. The menu also includes assorted freshly prepared finger sandwiches and freshly baked raisin and cinnamon scones, served with Devonshire clotted cream and home made preserves. The Wimbledon Champagne Afternoon Tea will also be available at the hotel, including the above plus a glass of either Canard-Duchê Afternoon Tea at The Royal Garden Hotel has been recognised by the Tea Council’s Tea Guild, for meeting an exceptionally high standard and complying with afternoon tea etiquette. The Wimbledon Afternoon Tea will be on sale from 20th June – 3rd July, with £1 from every tea sold being donated to the Save the Children charity. End
