By: BIG ARTS Tickets are $42 for adults, $20 for child 16 and under. Series tickets $108 for three shows, or all six shows for $198. Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, the season’s inaugural production, comes to BIG ARTS for a special eight-night run from the stage of the Florida Laboratory Theater. Annette Trossbach, recognized most recently for her directing work in Hamlet, A Clockwork Orange and Women Beware Women, is set to direct this classic written by famed playwright Edward Albee. Performances are October 27, 28, 29; November 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Described by The New York Times as “memorable,” Winter Wonderettes is the holiday-themed sequel to Roger Bean’s well-received 1999 musical comedy, The Marvelous Wonderettes, and has been called “the perfect Christmas revue” by LA Weekly. Be sure to reserve tickets for the musical’s very special New Year’s Eve performance, complete with a champagne toast to ring in 2012. Performances are December 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, and 31. Special New Year’s Eve performance, with champagne reception, starts at 9 p.m. Based on the popular 1988 film, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is the Tony® Award-winning musical that has taken Broadway by storm. The story centers around two con men living on the French Riviera who unsuccessfully attempt to combine forces only to realize the town is only big enough for one of them. Performances are January 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, February 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and 11. All shows, except New Year’s Eve, begin at 8 p.m. Pre-season ticket orders to BIG ARTS Members, begin in September. Remaining tickets will go on sale to the general public after October 15.
