Other governing board members including Mr. Hemant Desai, President Commercial and Corporate Affairs, Reliance Industries Limited; Mr. Dharmendra J. Rama, President, JHM Hotels; Professor Sharad Joshi, Ex-Pro Vice Chancellor, MS University, Baroda; Mr. K.V. Simon, Regional Vice President, American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute; and Dr. Kamlesh Misra, Provost, Auro University were present at the function and welcomed the founding batch of Auro University.
A 4-day orientation program to ensure that students get to know each other and the faculty at Auro and undergo a smooth transition from school life to the more independent life in college follows the inaugural function. The orientation program will also be focused on equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge required for them to cope with the unique academic program at Auro. The academic session will commence on August 16, 2011.

Auro University has entered into a technical support agreement with the University of South Carolina (USC), Columbia, USA. USC is involved in the curriculum and faculty development at Auro. Eligible Under Graduate students at Auro also have the opportunity to take a full credit transfer after 2-years at Auro and receive degreesfrom USC.
Auro University is working closely with the College of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management and the Darla Moore School of Business at USC in the areas of curriculum development, delivery mechanism, pedagogy, assessment, faculty training, and student exchange. The curriculum at Auro is constantly being upgraded in consultation with our academic partners at USC.
