Chicago Half Marathon and Health Expo at Navy Pier

Aug. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The Chicago Half Marathon Health and Fitness Expo will take place September 9 and 10, 2011, at the historic Navy Pier in Chicago.

The Chicago half mile is the fifth largest half mile in the United States, and the twenty first largest road race in the country.

Concierge Preferred is excited to announce that the Chicago Half Marathon Expo is free and open to the general public. It will offer a myriad of companies related to the fitness field who will exhibit their products, as well as hourly seminars with both panel discussions and keynote speakers.

Chicago Navy Pier is located at 600 East Grand Avenue and the Exhibition Hall B in the Festival Hall Complex is located at the far end of Navy Pier.

The CTA will offer a free Health and Fitness Trolley that will bring attendees from their "L" stop at State and Lake Street to Navy Pier. The Trolley will run on Friday from ten a.m. until eight p.m. and Saturday from nine a.m. until six p.m.

The Expo will also offer discounted parking at Navy Pier. A flat rate of ten dollars will get get you all day parking. Upon arrival at the Chicago Navy Pier entrance, follow the directions of traffic personnel for the most convenient parking options.

As for the marathon itself, the Chicago running course will offer spectacular views, incorporating a jaunt adjacent to the Chicago Skyline, and bringing runners through the Jackson Park Golf Course and the University of Chicago campus.

The Chicago half marathon and the half marathon Expo brings Chicago running into the forefront of the fitness community. The marathon has steadily grown since its inception in 2003, and is now considered one of the finest events of its kind.
