GFM to play critical role in WorldSkills competition

Aug. 18, 2011 - PRLog -- The company, based in Colchester, will be employing extra staff to head up a major contact centre operation for the WorldSkills London 2011 competition, taking place in October. GFM will provide customer service and telephone information about specific events, as well as handling visitor and delegate enquiries from around the world.

GFM Head of Marketing Services Jiggs O’Sullivan said: “We’re extremely excited to be working with WorldSkills for the first time to provide vital support throughout the competition. Our contact centre team will have the answers to every possible question at their fingertips and we have provided extra training to ensure a smooth and efficient service.”

WorldSkills, held at the ExCel centre in London’s Docklands from 5th to 8th October, will bring together people from around the world, showcasing their talents and competing to be the best in their chosen skill across 45 categories, from Plumbing to IT, Floristry to Hairdressing and Construction. Hundreds of colleges from across the UK will also be taking part in Olympic style challenges for the chance to win bronze, silver and gold medals.

Held every two years in a different country, WorldSkills is expected to attract 150,000 visitors and 1,000 competitors. The event, designed to inspire future generations of skilled professionals, offers an interactive opportunity for visitors to try out a wide range of skills.
