In general, if investors see a stock nearing its 52-week low they would expect to see insiders purchasing it. That is, of course, if investors believe that their shares are undervalued. However, if there are no insiders buying the beaten-down stock, smart investors might need to take a closer look at the company as its turnaround prospects may be minimal. In this case, best investments may quite possibly be found elsewhere.
