Aug. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- Store and shopping centre design installation team EcoRIG has been named as one of the shortlisted companies for Retail Week's "New Store Europe Retail Week Interiors Awards" event, for its support equipment which enabled the eye catching window display to be created in the Mamas & Papas flagship store on Regent Street.

A shortlisted entrant in the “Best VM Solution of the Year” category, EcoRIG was asked to help create a split level window display which would maximise the visual impact from street level and make the most of the display capacity made available.

In response, the team designed a number of removable moving, repositionable platforms which could be lowered into the floor if not required. These platforms allowed the in-store visual merchandising staff to install mannequins and pushchairs weighing up to 40kg at floor level, before being raised into position safely and easily.

In addition, ceiling rafts with down light luminaires were also created and installed. These could be raised or lowered which meant not only that props could be suspended safely, but that the double height window space could be consistently illuminated in a variety of ways.

Dave Hunter, managing director of EcoRIG, was delighted with the news of the company’s recognition, saying: “The Mamas & Papas team was very impressed with the bespoke solution we created for them.  We helped them to maximise the creative and commercial potential of the vertical window space available and delivered a solution which now means that they can use the same materials and system to change the displays quickly, frequently and easily themselves, therefore enabling them to be self-reliant and providing long term substantial cost savings.

As an organisation, it is extremely satisfying to be recognised for our innovation and expertise in safe display construction, and we are looking forward to the ceremony later in the year”.

The Retail Week Interiors Awards Ceremony will be held on 29 September at the London Hilton Hotel.

EcoRIG is a unique ground operated system which raises, secures and lowers display and lighting at height, which can be used by in-house staff to reduce the use of access equipment and so reduce costs, administration and disruption.

Double height windows, atria areas, balconies, escalator voids and stairwells – all present a challenge to retailers and designers who want to optimise these areas to increase the value of the space.

In response, EcoRIG develops solutions which offers a cost-effective and viable method of installing and maintaining visual merchandise, props, decorations and other 3D collateral. All systems are designed to be safe and simple to use so in-house staff can operate them easily and retailers can change display schemes more frequently to merchandise more lines and improve the consistency of their offer.

Chandeliers, pendant lights and lighting tracks can also be lowered and raised at the touch of a button for easier maintenance and cleaning.
