South Pacific Comes To London!

Aug. 17, 2011 - PRLog -- South Pacific, a Tony Award-winning musical comes to the Barbican Theatre in London this summer. From 15th August to 1st October 2011, South Pacific is on a short seven-week tour of London.

South Pacific boasts seven Tony Awards and was sold out on NYC's Broadway for a couple of years and is presently selling out across the US. Now it's London which is going to experience the magic of Rodgers and Hammerstein's hit musical.

Set during the disastrous Second World War, South Pacific in London Barbican Theatre enlightens the romantic story of two war-affected couples, dying out by harsh realities of the war. South Pacific has arrived at the Barbican London with a live orchestra and a stellar cast. It has a celebrated Metropolitan Opera artist Paulo Szot who repeats his Tony Award-winning performance, supporting stars include Samantha Womack (née Janus), famous for her role of Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders. Samantha was recently seen in the West End's popular musical Guys and Dolls.

South Pacific is one of the most excellent musicals ever written and includes a series of popular songs such as "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair", "Bali Ha'i", "Some Enchanted Evening", "Younger than Springtime" "Happy Talk", and "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy".

South Pacific is brought to the capital by a whole creative crew of Lincoln Theater, led by director Bartlett Sher, with costumes by Catherine Zuber, musical staging by Christopher Gattelli, musical direction by Ted Sperling, lighting by Donald Holder, sets by Michael Yeargan, sound by Scott Lehrer and original orchestrations by Robert Russell Bennett.
