Latina Social Entrepreneur Initiates Back-to-School Promotion to Benefit Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Graciela Tiscareño-Sato, Chief Creative Officer of Gracefully Global Group, LLC and Author of Latinnovating today kicked off a two-week campaign to raise funds for the nation’s largest scholarship fund for Latino students. The author is a sought-after-speaker on innovation and entrepreneurship in the green economy and an active mentor to many Latino youth.  Ms. Tiscareño-Sato selected HSF for her first national promotion because of the organization’s focus on addressing the barriers that keep many Latinos from earning college degrees.

“The HSF initiative ‘Generation 1st Degree’ attracted my attention because seven of the ten people I feature in Latinnovating were (like me), the first in their families to graduate from college,” stated Ms. Tiscareño-Sato. “I know firsthand how that single achievement changes not only the trajectory of a family for all subsequent generations, but also how it makes our nation stronger. Ms. Tiscareño-Sato launched her book at Stanford University recently at the Silicon Valley Latino Leadership Summit. With target audiences of middle and high school students, college students and career changers, the author includes an industry primer and resources in each chapter. The long-term view of higher education is a key theme through these case studies that benefit all students. Because non-fiction books featuring Latino leaders are rare, this book is especially inspirational to Latino youth.
