Natural Childbirth Expert and Midwife, Sherry Nored, Joins Isis Ob/gyn August, 2011

Aug. 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Sherry Nored, certified nurse midwife and natural childbirth specialist, has been a women’s health practitioner for over 30 years. She is now accepting patients to the ISIS OB/GYN Alpharetta location.

Nored began her career practicing as a nurse in Mississippi then as a certified nurse midwife in Metro Atlanta. Her extensive background working in rural areas early in her career helped to develop her midwifery skills and also stretch her depth of knowledge. While now she specializes in natural childbirth methods, she believes in educating women so that they can make the best choices for their personal circumstances.

“I enjoy caring for women during their entire pregnancy,” Nored says. “I think women are more likely to accomplish the natural birth they want if you listen to their concerns and remain very attentive to their needs throughout the process.”

In addition to obstetrical services, Nored will facilitate water births, provide comprehensive physical examinations for gynecological, antepartum, intrapartum and postpartum clients.

“We are fortunate to have a midwife with her passion and skill join our staff,” says Dr. Hughan Frederick, Medical Director of ISIS OB/GYN. “I know our current and new patients alike will appreciate her as well.”

Nored received her registered nurses diploma degree from Southwest Mississippi Community College, her BSN from North Georgia College and her MSN from CASE Western at the Frances Bolton School of Nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. Nored then graduated from the Frontier School of nurse midwifery as a certified nurse midwife.

Nored is heavily involved in the community as she co-founded No One Alone, an active women’s shelter in Dahlonega, GA that helps victims of abuse. She also participates in several medical mission trips to Central America, providing basic nursing services as well as her midwifery expertise.

Nored is the mother of three, and she now lives in Dahlonega, GA.
