JOHN MARSHALL BANK HIRES ERIK DORN
Power-Player loan officer from Burke & Herbert Bank to join all-star team in Alexandria

[Alexandria, VA] [August 15, 2011] – Today John Marshall Bank, one of the most respected and fastest-growing community banks in the Washington metro area, announced the addition of Erik Dorn to its team of banking leaders.  Mr. Dorn, a Senior Vice President/Commercial Lender, will be based in John Marshall Bank’s Alexandria office.

“I am excited to have Erik Dorn join our already talented lending team in Alexandria” said John Maxwell, John Marshall Bank’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.  “Like the other loan officers at our Alexandria office, Erik is well known throughout the Alexandria business community.  His professionalism and commitment to establishing long-lasting relationships with clients is a perfect match for the culture we embrace at John Marshall Bank.”

Erik Dorn brings over 17 years of experience in the banking industry.  His entire banking career has been with Burke & Herbert Bank, where he held the position of Vice President/Commercial Lending since 1994.  Dorn is a results-driven commercial loan officer, bringing with him strong client contacts in the real estate market, including commercial, residential, law firms and investors.

Dorn holds a B.S in business management from Bluefield College in Bluefield, Virginia, resides in Alexandria with his wife, Jennifer, and four children, is a 1995 graduate of Leadership Alexandria and is an active member in the Southeast Fairfax Development Advisory Corporation.  He is also very active in the community.

“John Marshall Bank offers a way of banking I believe in – close relationships with clients, easy local access to the bank’s decision makers, top-notch banking executives and a commitment to community.  I am delighted to be joining John Marshall Bank, especially the role I can play assisting this great bank in establishing a presence in Alexandria.”

The addition of new senior leaders like Erik Dorn is being seen as a demonstration of John Marshall Bank’s strength as a well-run bank that is meeting the challenges of today’s economy.  The young bank has four branches with a fifth branch in Reston scheduled to open early September 2011, a loan production office in Alexandria and one in the District of Columbia. John Marshall Bank will also relocate its corporate offices to Reston at the end of August, adjacent to its new branch.

John Marshall Bank first opened to the public in Falls Church, Virginia in May 2006. Since that time, customer service, satisfaction, and success have inspired the bank’s leaders who have helped it to grow into one of the areas most respected and well capitalized banks.

“John Marshall Bank’s business model is based largely on people” Maxwell continued.  “We seek to hire talent, and expand the company based on the strengths of our bankers like Erik.”
