MedSave USA Sees Surge In 2011 EMR / EHR Compliance

"The surge in scanning is due to the increase in health providers implementing EHRs and participating in the government's EHR (electronic health record) incentive program," observed Donna Enzmann, MedSave USA's VP of Sales. "The healthcare marketplace is responding to the government's incentive to make records available electronically. While we are seeing increases, we suspect that this is just the tip of the iceberg," she added.

Enzmann added that the EHR Incentive Program will continue to drive providers to convert patient health files and records to EHRs. "The greatest financial incentive for providers is offered between 2011 and 2016. To receive the maximum financial incentive, Medicare-eligible professionals must begin participation by 2012 and Medicaid-eligible hospitals must begin participation by 2016," she noted.

Enzmann predicted that MedSave USA and other record retrieval companies will see a final surge in volume as the participation period deadline approaches.
