Sept. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- The iRed team are back in the UK and raring to go this week having spent a few days with the Amanyara team on the island of Providenciales in the Caribbean, one of an increasing number of international projects we have been invited to undertake in recent months. iRed’s experienced surveyors were chosen for their expert knowledge and capabilities, key requirements in enabling the resort to manage and implement their long term strategic goals on sustainability.

The idyllic, award winning Amanyara resort is situated in a quiet corner of the Turks and Caicos Islands offering a luxurious and tranquil retreat from busy day-to-day schedules for the discerning traveller.  This beautiful and remote location means an unavoidable reliance on fuel powered generators, a source of energy the Amanyara team are aware requires considered and careful use in order to meet their commitment to responsibly managing their environmental impact whilst maintaining the very highest standards of luxury and comfort the resort offers.

The Island based team know that simple but effective measures can vastly reduce overall fuel consumption and improve their environmental footprint so the obvious initial consideration for our team became the heavily fuel reliant requirement for temperature controlled spaces across the resort. Turning off the air-conditioning is not an option in the hot island temperatures but assessing its effectiveness was a straightforward starting position.

Unlike projects here in the UK where our focus is often fixed on assessing the thermal
efficiency of a building in relation to heat loss, it was the flow of cooled air which became the focus of our investigations. The team, taking a non invasive approach, thermally imaged buildings across the whole site, assessing the efficiencies of individual spaces, the resulting comprehensive report delivering a wide scope of recommendations for immediate and longer-term energy gains.  The beauty and tranquility of the Amanyara remains clearly apparent from the images captured - see http://iredltd.co.uk/news/

Our relationship with the Amanyara is of a long term nature and our team will continue to deliver further investigative services, support and advice over the coming months and years as the partnership evolves with Aman group as a whole.

iReds portfolio of projects continues to grow in diversity with our capabilities extending beyond the boundaries of UK shores.  Global consciousness on sustainability is growing at an unprecedented rate with the increasing necessity to assess and manage our environmental responsibilities to safeguard resources for future generations.

If you would like to discuss your project and strategic plans for improving sustainability, our team are happy to talk shop on a local, national or international basis, get in touch.
