World Tango Championship 2011

Aug. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- In December 2009, the tango was declared the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, by the UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee. Therefore, Buenos Aires became the headquarters for tango dancers from all around the world. What is more, "Buenos Aires Tango Dance World Cup 2011", was declared an event of provincial interest by the Chamber of Deputies in Buenos Aires.

The event will award the best dancers in the categories "Tango Salon", which promotes social dancing as a tradition in Buenos Aires, it is an improvised dance, dancers are close embraced and do amazing movements on the floor, and "Stage Tango", which aims to enrich the dance from a choreographic conception associated with the show.

The different categories are formed by the winning couples from the preliminary qualifying rounds.  The winners of each round are then sent to Buenos Aires, to participate in the final competition. The first place award is the tickets from the city in which the sub-site is made to the City of Buenos Aires including expenses and accommodation. Prizes and special mentions are also given to the second and third places and the corresponding certificate of participation for all contestants.

Considered one of the greatest tango events of international impact, the public comes from all over the world to the city of Buenos Aires looking forward to participating and enjoying. The public can also enjoy milongas, live music, exhibitions, free classes, dance shows of the most prestigious companies.
