QA Graphics Joins COSC, Combining Sustainable Education and Design

Aug. 15, 2011 - PRLog -- QA Graphics, a provider of creative solutions used to educate about sustainability, is pleased to announce their joining the Center on Sustainable Communities (COSC), a non-profit membership organization that serves as Iowa's trusted educational resource for sustainable building.
   
QA Graphics works with a variety of educational institutions, government organizations, and commercial businesses, helping them educate occupants about the sustainable initiatives in place at their building.    With both QA Graphics and COSC’s focus on providing education about sustainability, this relationship was a natural progression.

The application can display a building’s real-time resource savings and production to illustrate efficiency, and motivate viewers to engage in energy efficient practices.  Education is provided through a variety of interactive features like environmental tips, quizzes, games and demonstrations that explain how sustainable building features like wind energy, photovoltaics, daylighting or solar hot water benefit the environment. The educational tool can help earn points towards green building certification programs, contributing towards satisfying the U.S. Green Building Council’s® Innovation in Design Green Education and Innovation in Design School as a Teaching Tool credits under LEED®, and a variety of points under The Green Building Initiative’s™ Green Globes® green building rating and assessment system.
