Showcasing Edmonton Peace Makers and
Defining the Canadian Department of Peace Initiative

Hosted by the Edmonton Chapter a local group within the Canadian Department of Peace Initiative (CDPI), a non-partisan organization with a combined support base of over one million Canadians.

WHAT: Public Event: Presentation: Doing our Peace

WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 7:00 – 9:30 PM

WHERE: Providence Renewal Centre (auditorium)
3005 – 119 Street
Edmonton, AB

WHY: The good news is PEACE is breaking out around the world—however, time and again we only hear of world conflicts.  Here in Edmonton, we are Showcasing Edmonton Peace Makers at a public event called Doing our PEACE!   Edmonton’s Peace Makers will articulate their innovative and non violent ways they have been doing peace in our community and around the world. Also presenting are CDPI National Co Chairs defining a Department of Peace within the Canadian Government.  The event is inspiring, informative, and tribute to the peace maker’s work.

Peace Education:
Colleen Ring and St. James Students, Eva Nolan and former McLeod Students
Peace Builders: You Can & Step Up and Step In
Peace Makers: Interfaith Peace Maker – Wesley Glebe
                         and Restorative Justice presenter Bruce Stanley
Peace Keeper: Major Tim Isberg
Canadian Department of Peace Initiative National Co-chairs: Dr. Saul Arbess (Victoria) and Ms. Theresa Dunn-Miller (Ottawa)  Dr. Saul Arbess is also a founding member of the Global Alliance for Ministries and Departments of Peace totalling 40 countries.

EXTRA: Display of Peace Art Collection:   The Ambassador of Peace Collection contains 63 pieces of artwork of youth, ages 5 - 16, from each of the 63 countries who have submitted their creations to the Peace Pals Art Awards over the years.  Each piece celebrates the Vision of Peace within the hearts of youth.  The name, age, country of the artists are printed under each painting.  The flag of the artist's country is also included with the message, May Peace Prevail On Earth, in both English and the native language of the artist. We are proud to feature these precious pieces representing the various culture and traditions of the world.

Canadian Department of Peace Initiative Edmonton Chapter is a small not for profit group. We are also a non partisan group though we take pride that our supporters represent four of the major political parties across Canada.
