PRLog - Aug. 12, 2011 - SPARKS, Nev. -- When RestoredLiving.com was first introduced on the web, the main focus of our site was to provide aids to people who require help to get through their day. These aids include a wide range of products; from reachers and shoehorns to nutritional drinks and diabetic supplies. But as time progressed, we felt like we weren’t branching out quite as much as we would like. To change that, we decided to focus on a subject that is becoming an increasingly large problem in America and the world: incontinence.
After doing a few months of research, the team at RestoredLiving.com has come to realize just how big of a problem incontinence has become, specifically urinary incontinence. According to multiple international surveys, an estimated 10-15% of all women and approximately 5% of men suffer from urinary incontinence. That’s over 500 million people worldwide!
Along with our research on urinary incontinence, we have been looking for products that could become the best solutions to the problem. As we continued our research for such products, one name continued to pop up over and over again as the best incontinence product brand on the market. That name is Abena.
After reading multiple rave reviews, Abena’s best seller seemed to be the Abena Abri-Form X-Plus adult diapers. So we decided to put these diaper briefs to the test and ordered a package of Abena Abri-Form L4 diapers. What we found amazed us.
The first thing we wanted to test was absorbency, so we added 1000mL (over 4 cups) of warm water to the middle of the diaper. Almost immediately, the diaper began to absorb the water, at the same time wicking liquid away from the middle and dispersing it throughout. The leg gathers on the sides of the diaper held exceptionally, holding in all the water while it was wicked away and absorbed. We proceeded to touch the voided spot with our palms, and they came back almost completely dry when we lifted them. After adding an additional 1000mL of liquid, everything performed in the same exceptional manner as the first time.
What impressed us the most was how the diaper didn’t bulk up in one specific spot, even though it was retaining over 2000mL (over half of a gallon!) of warm water. Other high-end diapers, such as Prevail Pm adult briefs, tend to bulk up in voided areas, thus increasing the chances of a leak. And they aren’t nearly as absorbent as the Abena Abri-Form adult diapers.
After further research, we came to the conclusion that Abena Abri-Form diapers have a specific wood pulp/SAP (super absorbent polymer) ratio that allows them to be so functional. Wood pulp is the main component in diapers that wicks away fluid from a voided area, as well as absorbing liquid. SAP is a molecular polymer that absorbs an incredible amount of liquid before reaching maximum capacity, thus SAP is a huge factor in a diaper’s absorbency.
There are pros and cons for each, of course. Wood pulp is very good at wicking away fluid, and can hold a decent amount of liquid. But when it is squeezed or pushed on while retaining a maximum amount of liquid, it may leak out. SAP, on the other hand, is extremely absorbent; far more than wood pulp. But when SAP absorbs liquid, it turns into a gel. If there is too much liquid-saturated SAP in one area, a clump of gel may bulk up the diaper, increasing the chance leakage may occur.
When these two substances are used together in a diaper, great things happen. If the ratio between the amount of wood pulp and the amount of SAP is applied correctly, a diaper can effectively wick away fluid and absorb a maximum amount of liquid. This is where we come to Abena. They are by far the most effective incontinence products on the market, boasting incredible absorbency levels of up to 4000mL of liquid capacity (specifically the Abena Abri-Form X-Plus Adult Diapers). These adult diapers are incredibly comfortable, featuring four attached, stretchable tapes that ensure a secure fit. Customers can depend on these diapers to prevent leaks as much as possible, while having the most absorbent diaper on the market.
At RestoredLiving.com, we offer three different varieties of Abena incontinence products: Abri-Form adult diapers, Abri-Flex pull-up protective underwear, and Abri-San incontinence pads. Abena Abri-Flex and Abena Abri-San products do not have the same absorbency capacity as the Abena Abri-Form adult diapers, but are by far the most comfortable and absorbent pull-up protective underwear and incontinence pads available today.
Abri-Flex pull-ups are perfect for those who want great incontinence protection, but want the comfort of an underwear-like product. Abri-San incontinence pads are specifically made for people who want absolute discretion, without sacrificing protection. Both of these product lines feature the same high-quality leg gathers as the Abri-Form adult diapers.
Abena incontinence products are simply the best in the world. They are the most absorbent and reliable in terms of leakage protection available today. And to many, they are the most comfortable. We are proud and excited to feature Abena’s line of exceptional products on our website.
We hope our customers are able to benefit from these products as much as possible. Please visit our website today!
