Lighting can have a tremendous impact on the overall tone and feel of an event. Details including linens and centerpieces accented with crystals and color can make the event special for all who attend.

Aug. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Our couples have worked closely with our Design Team to create their unique events.  Here are some tips about using lighting and design for your big day.

Tip #1-Work With Your Planner

Spend time with your planner deciding what special designs you would like to incorporate into your day.  For a unique spin on displaying your seating cards, use branches with the cards hanging from crystals and ties that include the colors of your wedding.  Your guests will be delighted as they find their cards and hold onto them as fun keepsakes.

Tip #2-Uplight Your Event in Your Wedding Colors

Our couple Christina and Akinyele worked with Jersey Street Furniture to have their ballroom uplit in their purple hue against beautiful white curtains.  It added a fantastic touch to their fabulous affair.

Tip #3-Go With Natural Lighting

There is something special about looking at pictures where the couples are basking in the glory of natural sunlight.  For an outdoor ceremony you may want to have the ceremony start right around sunset.  The gorgeous sky will serve as your back drop.

Tip #4-You Can Always Incorporate Candles

Candles are a great way to add a warm soft glow to your event.  They can be used for both indoor and outdoor events and are great no matter what time of the year you are getting married.

Here are some more tips to create a fabulous wedding with lighting and design elements:

•   Use textures to create interest – use crushed shimmer linens and velvet chair cushions to add depth to the design of the room.
•   Work with a lighting company to add colored gels to lights that are already in the venue’s ballroom.
•   Use a gobo with your initials to highlight the dance floor.
•   Accent walls in the ballroom with lighting in the colors of the wedding party.
•   Incorporate table linens that compliment the wedding colors.
•    Add table napkins with monograms and lace to add texture to each table.
•   Add crystals to centerpieces and votive candles to enhance lighting.
