The National Alzheimer’s Association recently reported this disease is now the sixth leading cause of death and of the top 10, it’s the only one where there is no specific prevention or cure. According to the recently released Generation Alzheimer’s report, 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s disease. By mid-century that number could skyrocket to as high as 16 million. It is no longer their parents and grandparents who have Alzheimer’s, it’s them. The time to raise fund to find a cure is now. “It’s an honor to have Dr. Keel join our cause this year as we strive to bring more visibility to our cause in the Statesboro area,” said Development Director, Jami Murray. The Statesboro Walk to End Alzheimer’s will step off on Saturday, September 24, at the Bulloch Academy track, located at 873 Westside Road.
