Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. Announces 2011 Spouses' Scholarship Winner

Aug. 11, 2011 - PRLog -- Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. (WBTB) is pleased to announce the winner of our 2011 Law Enforcement Spouses’ Scholarship is Alexis Davis of Mattawan, Michigan.  Alexis is a student at Lewis University and is working towards her Master of Science in Public Safety Administration.  Alexis is the wife of Brandon Davis, a Trooper with the Michigan State Police, a proud mother of two, and a current employee of the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Department.   She is active in her community and was also named Dispatcher of the Year for 2008 in Eaton County.  The Board of Directors, Staff, and Members of Wives Behind the Badge, Inc. send their sincerest congratulations to Alexis on this award!

The Wives Behind the Badge Law Enforcement Spouses’ Scholarship is offered to the spouses and registered domestic partners of law enforcement officers. The winner receives $500 to assist with tuition at an accredited four-year university or community college. Scholarships are awarded based on the scholastic achievement, character, personal and career goals, and community service of the applicant.  The other finalist for this year’s scholarship – Regina Colon – was an amazing candidate, which made the final decision difficult. We wish our finalists and all of our applicants this year the best of luck in their higher education and beyond.
