Aug. 10, 2011 - PRLog -- This video from an eye-witness inside Syria shows some type of bomb/shelling directly aimed at the minaret of a mosque inside of Der al-Zor, Syria's fifth largest city.  The attack continues over the span of 2 and a half minutes, while the individual behind the camera explains the date of attack (August 10th, 2011) and the perpetrators (The Syrian Security forces).

"In deliberately attacking a masjid during Muslims' holiest month of the year, Bashar is sending a clear message to the Syrian people: Not only does he disrespect the lives of his countrymen, as we have seen through the massacre of over 400 civilians in one week alone, but he also has no tolerance or respect for the deeply spiritual and God-loving nature of the Syrian people.  This is a video that the world needs to see," says Dena al-Atassi, Service Chair for the "Got Freedom?" campaign.

At around 2min 25 seconds, the minaret can be seen collapsing, with large clouds of dust and smoke resulting, while angry civilians on the ground shout.  The words "Allahu Akbar!" can be heard from the group and behind the camera, which means that "God is Great!" and signifies the refusal of the Syrian people to bow to Bashar's brutality.
