Tinton Falls, NJ (August 9, 2011) - The Purr'n Pooch (PNP) invites canines and their companions to put their best paw forward during the pet resort's new "Sweat with Your Pet" health and fitness program.  PNP's canine clients have enjoyed the positive effects of play on their physical and emotional health for over forty years.  This fall the Palazzo Family, owners of Purr'n Pooch Pet Resorts, and their team of certified pet care professionals are thrilled to expand their services to include low/high impact exercise classes, supervised outings and nutritional/wellness workshops that cater to the entire family, two and four legged.

"Sweat with Your Pet" launches Monday, September 12th, 6:30-7:30 p.m. with a DOGA class (yoga with your dog) at Purr'n Pooch's exercise/training room located on 86 West Gilbert Street in Tinton Falls, NJ.  Led by yoga professional Anya Castellano and her Maltese Rocco, DOGA is a rare opportunity to relax, rewind and renew with your dog in a friendly atmosphere. Cost is $20 per class for walk-ins or $18 per class for a ten-class pass. DOGA will be held weekly on Monday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Call 732-842-4949 to register.

In the United States, over 44% of dogs and 57% of cats are estimated to be overweight or obese according to the Association for Pet Obesity Prevention (APOP). According to the Trust for America's Health, adult obesity rates have doubled since 1980, from 15 to 30 percent, while childhood obesity rates have more than tripled. Rising obesity rates have significant health consequences, contributing to increased rates of more than 30 serious diseases.  

Purr'n Pooch is determined to help lower these numbers by making the exercise routine an easy, unique experience for people of all ages and their canine companions.
