Aug. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- Just released for the Apple iPad,  an app that converts the sleek & elegant device into an electronic visitor registry.  As you walk into most offices these days, they will ask you to “sign in”, placing a pen in hand and pointing at a binder containing scribbles of visitors entering before you.   The purpose of “signing in” is to often satisfy the needs of health and safety concerns, giving fire officials accurate head counts in the event of an emergency.   In order to meet this need,  companies often revert to a sloppy loose leaf binder.  Sadly, most visitors use a penmanship that makes the written information difficult to decipher.
Visitor’s, especially those trained in sales techniques, often scan the visitor’s registry to see if competitors have visited before them.  It often influences the spin of the pitch given to company executives.
Those days are gone.  With the new Sign In app from receptionsignin.com, the iPad can now be used to track visitors, print badges, generate lists of on-premises, and even ask visitors to sign an agreement before entering the building.   Sign In tracks the visitor’s time and who they saw.  Most importantly, it keeps the visitors information private so that others can not review the list of people already on-premises.   Great for keeping company information discreet!
In fact, the need to accurately count anyone on-premises is growing.  Lists must be readily available in an instant for emergency officials.   Daycare centers, movie studios, manufacturing plants and offices all use this device to keep an accurate head count of people on-premises at any given time throughout the day.
The iPad platform is a relatively inexpensive device ideally suited to be used in this way.  Instead of a cumbersome computer with screen and keyboard,  the iPad is compact, powerful, easy-to-use and aesthetically sophisticated.
In the near future, as you visit more and more places, you’ll soon be asked to sign in to an iPad Sign In.  Do so gladly,  knowing your information is protected and discreet, and that it’s for your own well-being in the event of an emergency.
For more information visit the iTunes app store, and search for “Sign In”.
