Follow on Google News | Historic New Hampshire Resort Earns Platinum Status for Green Business OperationsMountain View Grand Resort and Spa, New Hampshire’s premier historic mountain resort, has reached its platinum certification status through the Green Business Bureau’s (GBB) green certification program
The GBB provides national, third-party green business certifications for businesses that strive to reach sustainability, save money and improve the environment. In order for companies to achieve the platinum level of green business certification, the highest offered by GBB, they must adhere to strict guidelines, standards and procedures set forth by GBB’s industry experts. Mountain View Grand has done just that since they began implementing green practices several years ago. “At Mountain View Grand, we want guests to know about our substantial and ongoing efforts in environmental sustainability,” Major green efforts by the resort include installing a large wind turbine to help meet the resort’s electricity needs and purchasing 100 percent green renewable energy, as well as growing their own fruits and vegetables and recycling and installing low-flow shower heads and toilet valves. The list of the resort’s green initiatives is extensive and can be viewed at www.mountainviewgrand.com by clicking on the green certification seal. “Mountain View is committed to achieving the highest level of environmental sustainability possible within the framework of operating a resort,” says Diego. “We have already been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a Green Power Partner, by the N.H. Lodging and Restaurant Association as an Environmental Champion, and by proclamation of New Hampshire Governor John Lynch for our green initiatives, recognized at the 2010 annual meeting of the Environmental Council of the States.” Marcos Cordero, LEED AP and CEO of GBB says, “We are proud to recognize Mountain View’s contributions to making the environment a healthier place for its customers, employees and community. The added benefits of green certifications are many, and include cost-savings, increased ROI and increased marketing opportunities.” Resort Contact: Mountain View Grand Resort and Spa: Christopher Diego, Managing Director / 101 Mountain View Road, Whitefield, NH 03598 / 866-484-3843 / www.mountainviewgrand.com.
