Aug. 9, 2011 - PRLog -- The law firm Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, LLP is offering as a public service a free guidebook in Spanish explaining to those who were sickened from toxins while working at the Ground Zero area what they need to do to apply for a claim for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund.

The guidebook, titled “Información Sobre el Zadroga 9/11 Fondo de la Compensación de Víctimas” (Facts About 9/11 Victim Compensation Under The Zadroga Act), provides an overview of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act of 2010 and the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund. It also describes who is eligible to file a claim once the fund reopens, how to file a claim and the types of illnesses such as asthma, reactive airway disease, sinusitis, bronchitis, COPD, GERD and various cancers which are covered by the Act.

The Zadroga Act is named after James Zadroga, a New York City police detective who died in 2006 from respiratory disease as the result of inhaling toxins while working at Ground Zero. Under the Zadroga Act, $2.8 billion will be provided for the Victim Compensation Fund.

For the past nine years, Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco has been representing victims of 9/11. The firm is currently accepting Victim Compensation Fund cases for clients who want them to fully prepare their claims by gathering all needed medical and financial information prior to the fund’s reopening.

“This informative guidebook fully explains to the Spanish-speaking community what the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund means to those whose health has been adversely affected from exposure to those toxins while working at Ground Zero,” said Troy Rosasco, Founding Partner, Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco, LLP. “We urge those who are eligible to consider filing a claim now so they can receive all the compensation they deserve.”

Since 1995, Turley, Redmond, Rosasco & Rosasco has aggressively represented injured and disabled individuals with their workers compensation, Social Security disability, ERISA long-term disability benefits, private disability insurance, construction accident and other legal claims.
