The name Starr comes from Starr County in South Texas where Craig’s grandfather (Howard Bass) was a successful farmer and rancher. His hard work and creativity has been sustained and expanded on through those in the Hiles & Bass Family that have enjoyed his legacy.
Today, they are opening the door wider to this expansive 570 acre property so others can enjoy the beauty and peace that only nature can provide. The vision for this property does not begin and end at the gate; it is not about the location but the gift of vision and responsibility. Wanting others to enjoy the peace and beauty of this environment will always be the goal.
The Starr Adventure Ranch mission is to promote a safe environment, but to not forget for a moment that it is still nature and is not without risk. Visitors should come prepared in hiking boots and waders with a camera in hand! The goal is to have a fun adventure while being mindful of what nature has to offer such as wildlife, creatures, artifacts, and in spots rough terrain.
There are many plans to grow the experience at the Starr Adventure Ranch past the already extensive list of activities the ranch already offers. The ranch is located just outside Florence TX, 45 min north of Austin at the edge of the Hill Country.
