Academy of Glam Celebrates One Year Anniversary and Grand Opening of Art of Glam Studios

Aug. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Cooper City, FL - August 5th, 2011 - - On Thursday, August 18th, Academy of Glam in Cooper City, FL will host a Barbie Glam Costume Party in celebration of it’s first anniversary and grand opening of Art of Glam Studios, located on premises and offering glamorous beauty services to the women of South Florida.  The festivities will be held from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. and will feature appearances by Miss Florida USA 2011, the lovely Karina Brez and the Florida Panthers Ice Dancers.  Performances include a belly & fire dance extravaganza from Belly Dance Entertainment Group and a swing dance medley by multiple award-winners Nataly Valera and Igor Derimov.  Food will be cooked up on the house BarbieQ grill with sponsored treats provided by Catered Fit, Edda’s Cakes and Spiked Cupcakes.  

Founded by the industry renowned, celebrity makeup artist and transformation guru, Victoria Duke, Academy of Glam has flourished over the past year and is a brilliant testament that success is possible in tough times in South Florida.  The Academy is a power program for aspiring makeup artists with a focus on artistic flow.  It is about developing true artists and breaking through the barriers that keep them just short of extraordinary by blending in life coaching to help build their confidence.  As quoted by James Vincent, co-founder of The Powder Group, “ In an industry where education and integrity can separate the successful professional artist from the amateur, Academy of Glam stands heads and shoulders above the other options available for makeup education.”

Nestled within the Academy is the new Art of Glam Studios, which will opens it’s doors to all women of South Florida on August 18th, 2011.  It will be the place for women to renew their spirits, let their guards down, and transform themselves and their lives.  The Studio will offer superior makeup and beauty services performed by master artists, as well as classes, transformational workshops, and photo shoots.  It will also be a space for private group events and parties.  On location services or “Glam on the Go” are also available. The master artists of AoG Studio’s Glam Squad are the official makeup artists for the Florida Panthers Ice Dancers.

Victoria Duke is America’s favorite and most fun transformation & inspiration expert.  She has been a successful celebrity makeup artist for over 20 years, an expert in multiple platforms including film, print, runway, television, concerts and music videos.  She was a national artist and creative consultant for the Estee Lauder companies and L’Oreal-Lancome, as well as integral to the development of several beauty brands including Stila Cosmetics.  In addition to being the lead makeup artist for top designers at New York and Miami Fashion Weeks, Victoria’s work has been seen in Allure, Vogue, Glamour, Elle and many others US & international magazines.  She has recently completed writing her first book called “Starting, Starting Now...”, an inspirational guide to help women believe in themselves and in their own inner & outer beauty.
