Aug. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Significant changes have been made to the all-new Cadillac SRX! Powertrain of the new Cadillac SRX gets a huge upgrade for 2012. The standard 3.0-liter V-6 engine with 265 horsepower and the optional turbocharged 2.8-liter V-6 are no longer available under of the hood of the 2012 Cadillac SRX! A new 3.6-liter V-6 has replaced those two engines!

The new engine is similar to the 3.6-liter V-6 found under the hood of the Cadillac CTS, but with some few changes. Those changes include plastic intake manifold, clever exhaust manifolds integrated into the heads, and lighter connection rods. This helps lightening the connecting rods which allows the engine to rev higher to 308 horsepower at 6800 rpm. The new engine is mated to an electronically controlled 6-speed automatic transmission.

Standard list of features on the 2012 Cadillac SRX include a Bose stereo system with eight speakers, a six disc compact disk changer, an ultrasonic rear parking assistant features, power windows, front and real individual climate control, leather seats, walnut trim, automatic power locks, power adjustable petals, XM satellite radio with a three month starting subscription, and an electric chromatic rear view mirror with a built in electronic compass.
