Landmark ACEDS agreement with Center for Continuing and Professional Education aims to enhance careers of litigation technology and project management professionals
Aug. 8, 2011 - PRLog -- Miami – The Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists today announced that the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies Center for Continuing and Professional Education (CCPE) has joined with ACEDS in an educational and career-advancing partnership that will provide students of CCPE’s Certificate in Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management much greater access to CEDS certification and e-discovery training at favored prices.

Under this groundbreaking partnership, students who successfully complete the Georgetown University Certificate in Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management will be eligible to apply for the certification examination leading to the awarding of the Certified E-Discovery Specialist credential and receive one year of professional membership in ACEDS, as part of their enrollment in the program.

As members of ACEDS, the participants in the Georgetown CCPE program will receive special access to proprietary news and analysis, members-only forums, training archives and the new career resource center at http://www.ACEDS.org.

Partnering to ensure competence in e-discovery
The Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies Center for Continuing and Professional Education and ACEDS share an abiding interest and mission through their respective programs to advance competence, skills and knowledge in electronic discovery and to build communities of kindred professionals.

Georgetown University’s program, which is composed of three comprehensive courses, leads to a Certificate in Litigation Technology and Legal Project Management. The program prepares students and legal professionals to enter or expand into the litigation support field with an advanced understanding of litigation and trial technology, e-discovery and legal project management.

In addition to access to the CEDS certification examination, which is offered at about 600 secure testing centers worldwide, CCPE students will receive a CEDS Exam Preparation Manual in electronic format and -- upon completion of the Center’s program -- the 25 continuing education credits that are prerequisites for the CEDS exam.
