What is Motivational Interviewing?
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative, client-centered therapeutic approach focused on eliciting and strengthening motivation for change developed by William Miller, Ph. D. and Stephen Rollnick, Ph.D. To learn more about Motivational Interviewing try our FREE webinar Motivational Interviewing: What’s All the Buzz About? (http://www.mitrainingtoday.com/motivational-interviewing-...)

Motivational Interviewing is a very effective tool for the following professions: Psychologists, Social Workers, Alcohol and Drug Counselors, Probation Officers, Health Educators, Domestic Violence Counselors and Advocates, Physicians, Nurses, etc,; anyone working with clients/patients on making healthy behavior changes.

Due to the small classroom size, attendees will receive essential one-on-one coaching from the trainer. At the completion of the training, attendees will be able to describe the "Spirit" of Motivational Interviewing as well as the major techniques and strategies, learn to overcome client resistance while eliciting behavior change, and practice strategic interventions to help increase clients' commitment to change. In addition, any Californian MFT or MSW registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences can earn 14 continuing education credits.
