American Cancer Society Mini Relay For Life To Be Held At Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Southpointe

Aug. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Thousands of supporters and survivors across the country participate in American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life each year, but in an effort to increase continuous support in the fight against cancer, businesses can also host a Mini Corporate Relay For Life. The Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Southpointe has embraced Relay For Life’s intention, to take action to eliminate the disease by donating their garden space for food, music and activities along with their parking lot for the Relay. Mini Corporate Relay For Life is on Thursday August 11th 10 a.m.-3 p.m.
Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Southpointe is also one of the 13 corporate teams participating in the Relay; Ansys, is the presenting sponsor of the event and is another corporate team to embrace the cause. About 150 people are expected to participate, including the current over 25 cancer survivors who will partake in the Survivor reception at noon that day.
Among the actual Relay, music, food and other activities, there will be a Survivor Ceremony when survivors and their caregivers are invited to do a lap around the track. Another moving ceremony that takes place at every Relay event is when participants take the time to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer and also honor the survivors of the disease.
