Somerset Business Marks Winning Year In Print

Aug. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Twelve landmarks across the area have been selected to go on show at the Taunton head office of Property Consortium Group.
Photographed in stunning black and white, the images include the Royal Crescent in Bath, Glastonbury Tor and Taunton Castle, all created by Burnham-on-Sea based photographer, Tony Howell.
In Autumn last year, Jeremy Hyams, the Chief Executive Officer of Property Consortium Group, based in Culmhead Business Park, was awarded The Albert Goodman Entrepreneur of the Year accolade at the Somerset Business Awards – while his business took the Somerset Business of the Year title for more than 50 employees.
The entrepreneur award was presented to 43-year-old Jeremy in recognition of his positive role as a ‘Dadpreneur’ - balancing caring for his children while keeping his business on a growth curve.
The Business of the Year title was secured in recognition of the Group’s high-level Investment in staff training, commitment to the environment and the management team’s clear vision of the business’s strategic direction – namely to be the market-leading property repair service for the insurance industry.
Jeremy said: “We wanted to mark this successful year and, as a company proud to be based in the South West, we felt that showcasing images of the region at our office was a excellent opportunity to mark a successful 12 months.”
A privately-owned company, established in 1996 by Jeremy Hyams, Property Consortium Group offers a 24 hour claims validation, building repair network, drainage and water repairs, and service delivery centre to insurers and brokers nationwide.
The businesses turnover is now in excess of £12 million and it employs almost 100 people.
Recently, Property Consortium Group announced major extension plans, resulting from its successful handling of surge claims in the bad weather of 2010 and 2009, which led to an increase in business from insurance clients.
To accommodate the growth, Property Consortium Group – which currently operates across 13,000 square feet of office space - has extended into buildings adjacent to its Taunton headquarters, increasing the floor space by more than 50 per cent.
The new space covers 7,000 square feet, with an option to expand into a further 4,000 square feet in the future.
A surge room, equipped with 40 empty work stations, to handle any major claims resulting from a spite of bad weather or other issue is being included.
Enhanced facilities for the 100 staff on site are also being created, including a fully fitted gym.
