Aug. 4, 2011 - PRLog -- Walldorf, August 4, 2011 – Excerpts from an extensive multi-client user survey conducted by IDC regarding the adoption of cloud computing and cloud services in German companies, are available as of today on the website of fluid Operations, one of the leading providers of cloud management solutions based on semantic technologies. 235 German companies with more than 250 employees and 100 PC work stations participated in the IDC survey between March and April 2011. International Data Corporation (IDC) is the premier global provider of market intelligence, advisory services, and events for the information technology, telecommunications and consumer technology markets. The management summary made available on the fluidOps website is called “Transformation of IT Landscapes on the Way Into the Cloud”.

The IDC survey examines the current state of the use of cloud of cloud computing and cloud services in German companies. The analysts describe the main challenges for enterprise IT in the next one to two years, the approach companies take to the cloud topic, as well as the greatest barriers and the benefits in adopting cloud computing and cloud services. IDC also offers concrete recommendations and tips from users for users.

“The results of the IDC study confirm that cloud computing and cloud services will prevail increasingly in German companies. This is consistent with our experience. More and more companies are opting for our innovative cloud management solutions. With our platform based on semantic technologies, we successfully accompany our customers on their way into the cloud,” said Andreas Eberhart, Managing Director at fluid Operations.

Results of the Survey
According to IDC, 70 percent of the interviewed companies are already working on a cloud strategy. The analysts expect that in the future, a mix of different sourcing models will be identified in enterprise IT environments. One of the biggest barriers – particularly when it comes to building a private cloud – seems to be the fact that in many companies basic core requirements have not yet been met. This concerns both the standardization and consolidation, as well as the virtualization of the IT environment. The simultaneous cost reductions and rapid implementation / deployment of new solutions and services are, according to IDC, the main benefits a company can reap from the effective use of the IT infrastructure. “In order to increase the added value of a company and be able to better support internal departments, new requirements need to be adopted quickly. This requires a rapid implementation and a more flexible IT delivery process. Cloud services are therefore essential to meeting these requirements”, added the IDC expert, Matthias Kraus.
