Aug. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- Learn more about Bridge Communities’ Transitional Housing Program in Naperville at the First Annual Friendraiser, being held Tuesday, September 20, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Bridge Communities’ Learning Resource Center at 1330 Crab Apple Ct., Naperville.  Leave your wallet at home – this is a friendraiser, not a fundraiser!  Join Bridge Communities for complimentary food and beverages, meet Bridge staff and volunteers, and learn about how Bridge Communities helps homeless families in Naperville transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency and how you can help.  Reservations are required but there is no cost to attend this fun social and informational event.  Please feel free to bring a friend and be sure to RSVP to vicky.m.joseph@gmail.com.

“With my NFP involvement, I was amazed that I hadn’t heard about Bridge,” says event co-chair Chad Pedigo, Box Office Manager at North Central College.  “The single largest chunk of Bridge Communities’ program is centered in Naperville.  For it to be here and Naperville not to know about it surprised me.”

At the Friendraiser, which is being held in Bridge Communities’ newly remodeled Learning Resource Center in Naperville, attendees will learn first-hand the impact that Bridge Communities has on the Naperville community.  Bridge Communities staff and volunteers will be on-hand to share information about the Transitional Housing Program that changes lives and how volunteers can help make a difference now and in the future.

“There are not many programs like Bridge out there giving people tools to permanently overcome homelessness, rather than just looking for a short-term solution,” adds Pedigo.  “I really believe it’s benefiting those in need, and I am honored to be a part of it.”
