Aug. 3, 2011 - PRLog -- ALLENTOWN, Pa. (Tuesday, July 5, 2011) – American Idol Season Nine runner-up Crystal Bowersox headlines a “Rev It Up for Juvenile Diabetes” outdoor music festival and concert at Stabler Arena on September 10, 2011. A portion of the concert proceeds goes to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), which moves life-altering research out of the lab and into human clinical trials. In addition to Bowersox, the concert lineup includes former American Idol contestant and Lehigh Valley native Jordan White, Philadelphia singer, songwriter and piano player Carmen Magro and alternative rock band Hawthore Heights.

QUOTE FROM CRYSTAL BOWERSOX ABOUT HER STRUGGLE WITH DIABETES

Bowersox’s struggle with diabetes became public during the 2010 American Idol competition when she was hospitalized because of complications from the disease, forcing a last minute switch in scheduling to give her extra time to recuperate. The first female contestant to make it to the finale since Jordin Sparks won in 2007, Bowersox is also the first contestant in American Idol history to have one of their original songs played on the show when she performed “Holy Toledo” on the May 19, 2010 Top 3 Results show. At the Rev It Up for Juvenile Diabetes concert, she will be performing songs from her debut album Farmers Daughter.

The concert will also hold a tribute for our military and the 10-year anniversary of 9/11. Members of the Northeast Kiwanis Club will be recognized and honored. As part of the tribute, Carmen Mango will perform his debut single America.

Located outside Stabler Arena, the free outdoor festival starts at 2 p.m. and features a number of local bands. The Rev It Up for Juvenile Diabetes concert will begin at 7 p.m., giving patrons plenty of time to make it to the show after the Lehigh vs. New Hampshire football game has concluded at Goodman Stadium just across the street. Individual tickets to the concert are $39.50 for premiere seating and $27.50 for preferred seating. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling the Stabler Arena box office at 610-758-6611.
