Follow on Google News | The Royal Marsden Commissions Doctors.net.uk To Create Educational Cancer Resource For GpsDoctors.net.uk – the largest and most active professional network of doctors in the UK – has been appointed by cancer centre specialist The Royal Marsden to run a six-month, online educational programme for GPs.
By: Tala In addition to being able to access a wealth of cancer information online, GPs will be invited to attend free, quarterly educational events on the latest advances in cancer diagnosis, treatment and care. Attendance at each event enables GPs to earn five Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points. All the events are filmed and can also be viewed via recorded webcasts. The Royal Marsden has two hospitals in London and Surrey, and recently opened a Rapid Diagnostic and Assessment Centre at its London hospital, which allows for the same-day diagnosis of a number of tumour types. With its academic partner, The Institute of Cancer Research, The Royal Marsden also undertakes groundbreaking research into new cancer drug therapies and treatments.
