In September 2010, Lanna, at the age of 56, donated her kidney to a woman she had
never met. The recipient was a wife and mother of four young boys who was suffering
from the devastating effects of diabetes and relied on dialysis to sustain her life. Lanna’s
selfless and admirable act added at least 20 years to the woman’s life.
“I felt compassion and I was at a point in my life where at the end of the day I’m
blessed, and I just wanted to give back in some way,” explains Krogman, continuing on
that ”people come into your life for a reason, and because of this experience, I tend to
look at people that come into my life as a very special gift”.
