Aug. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- ROCHESTER, Minn. (August 2, 2011) — Crenlo, a Dover company , is pleased to announce the addition of the Emcor 10-Series IBC Tie-Down Kit to their lineup of accessories for Emcor enclosures. Built to secure the Emcor 10-series cabinet to the floor, the IBC Kit meets life safety requirements for protecting building occupants from falling objects in the event of an earthquake as outlined in the International Building Code.

The kit contains four frame spacers and four seismic brackets that require the appropriate concrete anchoring hardware to meet local codes as determined by a building engineer. Crenlo’s engineers can work directly with customers and/or their engineers to provide site-specific installation recommendations.

“One of our major focuses at Crenlo is to help our customers comply with an array of industry regulations, and with the addition of the Emcor 10-Series IBC Tie-Down Kit, we have further strengthened our ability to do so,” said Steven Leidig, manager of enclosure engineering at Crenlo. “Seismic requirements vary by building, geographic region and industry, but our team of in-house experts is dedicated to consulting with our customers on a case-by-case basis to ensure compliance with either of the two major seismic standards.”

There are two standards by which enclosures are deemed seismic — Telcordia Technologies GR-63-CORE Network Building Systems (NEBS) and the International Building Code (IBC). For years, Crenlo has offered a Telcordia-compliant seismic rack tested to the most stringent, Zone 4 criteria.

“Most manufacturers of data center racks offer products that are marketed as offering seismic protection, but there can be significant differences in the standards used to achieve those labels, and thus major disparities in the level of protection that those products provide,” said Leidig. “So, it’s very important for a buyer to be informed on the standards and testing achievements behind the seismic products they are buying. An informed purchase decision could mean the difference between failure and function.”

Crenlo offers an array of standard product lines, under their Emcor brand of
enclosures, which can be modified to meet specific needs of most applications. For customer needs that fall outside of the standard Emcor product offering, Crenlo also offers custom enclosure solutions to meet the specific requirements of any application, ranging from inverter enclosures to package drop boxes. Crenlo has more than 60 years of experience providing enclosure solutions to meet the needs of their diverse customer base.
