CCME Announces 2012 Annual Symposium in Orlando

Aug. 2, 2011 - PRLog -- Orlando, Fl. – July 14, 2011 - The Council of College and Military Educators (CCME) announces that the 2012 symposium will be held in Orlando, Florida February 13-16 at The Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. The 2012 theme, Salute to Possibilities: Paving the Way for Our Military Community, is intended to stimulate discussion and encourage the collective exploration of solutions to the many challenges faced by our military community during their educational pursuits. We will cover topics in several areas including the quality of distance learning, innovative technologies, transition, retention/completion measures and best practices, Post 9/11 GI Bill amendments, State Authorization Regulation Chapter 34, § 600.9(c), reports from the Service Chiefs, Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Burning Issues, and much more.

According to CCME President Linda Frank, “We anticipate over 1000 attendees from the military education community and believe all attendees will walk away with valuable information, new connections and new friends,”

During the symposium, CCME will sponsor a CCME Cares event. Attendees will have the opportunity to support our troops by donating items and/or by stopping by the CCME Cares event to help pack boxes of donated items to ship to the troops.

The busy week will end with a Hollywood Street Party at Universal Studios Orlando, where attendees will join Beetlejuice in the Beetlejuice Theater for the CCME Awards presentation, followed by dinner on Hollywood Boulevard (weather permitting), exclusive use of Terminator 2:3-D Battle Across Time, and access to Universal City Walk for those interested in making it a late night.
