The 2011 National Retail Federations survey on 2011 back-to-school shopping suggested that about 33.4% of respondents planned to go shopping online, up from 28.6 percent last year.

The survey also showed that from 23.2% of participants in 2010 to 30.7% this year would compare online shopping with shopping in brick and mortar stores.

“Though there are cars, people have to pay for gasoline, which is also part of the costs. Besides, more and more people are willing to stay at home. Without leaving house is a better choice for them,” said Mrs. Hayes. “There are more options for parents and children to shop online. Traditional shopping is subjected to the size of the store, bigger shops, and more varieties.”
