Aug. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- Randy Coleman, a Jacksonville attorney, established The Cheryl Coleman Foundation (CCF) to benefit uninsured, underinsured, and financially disadvantaged individuals. Proceeds from fundraising events will be allocated to different local healthcare organizations.

Inspired by his wife, Cheryl, Randy chose the Hill Breast Center as the Foundation’s first fundraising beneficiary for personal reasons. “My wife was diagnosed with breast cancer at the Hill Breast Center, and her cancer was identified through her routine mammogram and the follow-up biopsy,” says Randy. “She was only at Stage 1 when it was discovered and removed.” Cheryl is also an ovarian cancer survivor. “Both cancers were caught early so they could be effectively treated,” Randy emphasizes.

The Cheryl Coleman Foundation’s inaugural fundraising event, entitled “The Estate Planning Conference for Women (and the Men Who Love Them),” takes place on October 25th at the Marriott Hotel at Southpoint. The Baptist Health Foundation has approved this conference as one of their official Breast Cancer Awareness Events in October. All proceeds will go to the Hill Breast Center. Visit www.EarlyDetectionofCancers.org for tickets and for more details.

“Our objective for The Cheryl Coleman Foundation is to make routine tests more accessible so that others can have the same opportunity to defeat cancer through early detection just as we have experienced,” states Randy.
The initial board of trustees as of the time of this release includes Randy Coleman, The Coleman Law Firm; Robin Wahby, Managing Partner, New York Life Insurance Company; Ann Sabbag, President, Health Designs Inc.; Linda Nottingham, President, Jax Realty Advisors, Inc.; Kathryn Murphy, RN, President, Jacksonville Comfort Keepers; Anne Urban, President, Destination Planning Corporation; and Jessica Thomas, President, Thomas Marketing Consulting.
