Young Fashion and Music Professionals Raise Money for Childhood Cancer

“Fashion Has Heart” Charity Fashion Show Brings Fashion and Entertainment World to its Knee at Extravagant Fundraiser

Aug. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- A perfect marriage of fashion and philanthropy birthed an eloquent evening of FUN-raising Thursday, July 28 for the First Annual “Fashion Has Heart” Charity Fashion Show and Exhibition from 6:00PM-11:00PM at HK (Hell’s Kitchen) Lounge.

A night honoring “Have A Heart Children’s Cancer Society” and “Kim’s Kause”, event organizers—Tammy Domenick, Managing Partner of Black Stiletto Public Relations; Desiree Frieson, President & CEO of Mahogany Communications; and Barbara Guzman, President & CEO of Barbara Guzman Productions—created a charitable extravaganza for the elite New York City fashionistas and philanthropist to raise funds for childhood cancer treatment programs and financial assistance for families with loved ones victimized by one of the world’s leading causes of death.

Have A Heart Children’s Cancer Society,” a 501(c) 3 charity on a mission to help alleviate a families financial burden and to improve the quality of life for a child battling cancer; and “Kim’s Kause,” a charitable initiative benefiting Kimberly Niedzielski, a New Jersey Native and loving wife to a husband of 13 years and mother to 2 children, diagnosed with cancer during the most turbulent times of her life, will receive funds to help pay for cancer treatments and provide financial assistance to her family.
Brothers with a passion for charitable work and finding a cure for cancer, “Fashion Has Heart” was hosted by entertainment’s hottest young talent, Jabari Gray, guest-star on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Rescue Me, White Collar, and Law & Order; and theater actor/model  Sanyika Gray.

With DJ Pause Cut behind the turntables, Jabari and Sanyika kicked off the fashion show with children’s fashion label Kana, co-owned by Jeriza Peralta. Adding cuteness and style to the “Fashion Has Heart” event, two children cancer patients and 10 New York City metro area kids modeled for Kana. Natalie Woods by Camilla Luke added pizzazz to the evening with her chic and trendy ready-to-wear women’s fashion. Ending with see through gowns and fake hands sown into pieces, the show closed with couture and evening wear designs by YaaSerwaah by Akuoku.

Young talent was a theme for the evening as Pastele, a 19 year old New Jersey-breed pop singer, energized the crowd with her tunes “Table Tops,” and “Young N’ Love.” Accompanied by her back up dancers and acoustic guitarist, Pastele gave the crowd something to smile about. The entertainment continued with R&B’s most soulful young act, Bianca Madison (aka B. Madison). Bianca’s presence, soul and talent touched the hearts of attendees.

Guests had the opportunity to shop at the exhibition area. Exhibitors included Lucoral, Pistol Haute Jewels, White Haute Fashions, Lia Sophia, American Lasers, Andrea Bocchio Jewelry, Kana and Gabriella New York Bridal Boutique
