Sonardyne Sentinel sonar at DSEI
Sentinel is manufactured by Sonardyne International Ltd (Stand Number S10-197) and during daily demonstrations, divers will enter the Royal Victoria dock next to the exhibition centre and attempt to approach a Royal Navy ship undetected. On each occasion, visitors onboard the Sentinel-protected ship will experience first-hand the system’s ability to detect the divers as soon as they enter the water, track their progress, raise alarms and even identify what type of equipment the intruders are wearing; scuba or closed-circuit.
As part of the event, Sonardyne, along with their strategic partners, will also be demonstrating their new fully automated surface and subsea security system NiDAR™. Suitable for expeditionary or permanent installation, NIDAR™ is an open architecture, browser based platform that provides a fully integrated display of local and wide area surveillance sensors including; radar, camera, underwater sonar, AIS, satellite imagery and access control. By analysing and merging this data, NIDAR™ can quickly create a security bubble around a strategic asset, generating threat classification and alerts and autonomous initiationof active deterrents or countermeasures.
NIDAR™ is already operational in a number of European ports, offshore installations and strategic waterside locations. Visitors to DSEI will be able to experience NIDAR™ first hand by visiting Sonardyne’s mobile security command vehicle stationed on the quayside alongside the Royal Navy ship.
