Harrow East MP, Bob Blackman’s expenses

July 30, 2011 - PRLog -- The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) recently published the annualised information on MPs’ expenses and costs, for the period 2010-11.

So, when we at the Impeach Bob Blackman campaign, analysed the figures released for all London MPs; we were unsurprised to see that Harrow East MP, Bob Blackman produced the highest Travel and Subsistence spend of all London area MPs (£3,975.97 vs. a median London area MP spend of £250.40).

Further, Mr Blackman now ranks 11th (out of 73 London area MPs) in terms of total expenses expenditure – spending 16.24% more than the median London area Member of Parliament.

We say: “Mr Blackman is providing poor value for money for Harrow East constituents, since he is clearly spending more of his time travelling, eating and drinking at the public expense, than addressing the problems faced by his Harrow East constituents.”

Mr Blackman was unavailable for comment, when we contacted his office.
