July 29, 2011 - PRLog -- This session is designed to give all levels of nonprofit development staff and volunteers charged with the task of identifying grant funding opportunities and writing grant proposals a detailed overview of how to research and write success grant funding requests.  The tips and skills presented are applicable to federal, state, foundation, and corporate proposals and applications.

The agenda includes: Finding state and national grant makers; matching funder priorities to your needs and to your long-range strategic planning goals; writing award winning narrative sections for the New York/New Jersey Common Grant Application format, and understanding expectations of private and public sector grantmakers.

By the end of this presentation, participants will be able to understand:

How to identify and quality potential grant funding opportunities.
How to approach potential funders initially to ascertain their level of interest in your organization, its needs, and receiving a follow-up funding request.
How to target your grant proposal to the funder’s current areas of interest.
How to incorporate needs and solutions research into a grant proposal.
How to avoid the fatal mistakes that results in a funding rejection notice.
