"It gives us a chance to give the top homegrown players a professional experience while maintaining their collegiate eligibility." The league currently has eight teams from Texas and Oklahoma competing in a single table. The (yet to be named) Sports Culture team will join 2011 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup participant Regals FC, Ft Worth Innertunnel, Tulsa Lobos, Rio Grande Valley Ocelots, Corpus Christi Fuel, Houston Hurricane, and Club America Academy. The Montgomery County based team will play a balanced home and away schedule of fixtures with each team during the regular season. The 2011-2012 SPSL Cup will be awarded to the team with the most points at the conclusion of the season. SPSL teams also compete in United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) national events, including the qualifying process for the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup. The team’s roster will include core players from Houston and Montgomery County. The soccer team will call Sports Culture's new facility, located at 17951 Interstate 45 in Shenandoah, TX, home. The complex has two brand new, professionally installed surfaces for outdoor soccer. One field is a FIFA approved, state of the art, synthetic, Mondo Turf field. The other field is a FIFA approved, high grade natural grass field with an underground drainage system. There are also two indoor Mondo Turf soccer surfaces to go along with the other advanced training facilities at Sports Culture. "The SPSL team is one of the hierarchies of our soccer system. We will give these players every opportunity and advantage imaginable with perfect training facilities, practices, and coaching." Added Padilla. Sports Culture is also very excited about their biomechanics program, soccer school representative teams, and other developmental programs within their system. Players from age three and up will be able to find a perfect fit within the Sports Culture system.
