EMSL Turns To Sun To Help Power Corporate Laboratory

Aug. 1, 2011 - PRLog -- EMSL has just activated a 526.080 Kilowatt photovoltaic solar panel installation consisting of a total of 1,320 modules.  The system is located on the roof of the corporate laboratory of EMSL and also the adjoining Pep Boys Plaza commercial center, by doing this green project EMSL is reinforcing its commitment to sustainability and the environment.

As one of the largest roof top solar arrays currently installed in Southern New Jersey, it is expected to provide 38.17% percent of EMSL’s power needs.  In addition to this, the system is equivalent to yearly "saving" 172 acres of trees, and avoiding 967,495 lbs. of CO2, 1,673 lbs. of NOx (nitrogen oxide) and 6,239 lbs. of SO4 (sulfate).  

“This new solar panel system will benefit both the environment and EMSL,” said Joe Frasca, SVP, Marketing for EMSL Analytical, Inc.. “EMSL is continually evaluating and implementing ways to reduce our environmental impact while more efficiently serving our customers.”

The EMSL solar team included: Solar Electric NJ, LLC as Project Developer; RCL Enterprises Inc. as installation contractor; Eric Krise Electric as electrician.
